Lyrics
Do you remember now © Vic Arnold 2014 v1 One day in the park she caught my eye like sunlight through the treetops. I stopped dead in my tracks. It took my breath away as people passed me by. I was drawn as if by gravity over to the bench where she was sitting. Slowly then she raised her head and then a far off look came to her eyes. ch I said, "do you remember me? Does this old face seem familiar? I know it's been some time and I've been living on the other side of town But the years have been kind to you. You're still as pretty as a picture I'm sorry things weren't different then ... Do you remember now? " v2 She smiled and said "forgive me but did you ever live in Macon, Georgia? I'm sure I know that face but it seems oh, such a long, long time ago. I've been away myself and I've lost touch with friends but sure is nice to meet yah. Come and sit beside me and we'll talk about the things we used to know." ch I said, "do you remember me? We were close friends after college? I know it's been some time ... and there's a few more wrinkles on my brow. Then I was called away to war, we lost touch and I'm so sorry Things could have been so different then ... Do you remember now? " ch She paused then said "yes, I recall ... we had some good times didn’t we? And I cried for a little while ... wondered what and why and how. Then some time later, I met someone else and raised a family. Yes I do remember ............. I remember now". Tag One day in the park she caught my eye ..... I remember now.
