If we ever leave the Alamo © Vic Arnold 2013 My darling I can't be with you this day but I'm thinking of you some. We are trapped inside the Alamo, maybe there's a battle soon to come. I've made many new friends here, they came from far and wide. We're awaiting reinforcements now. That'll surely turn the tide. Dear general I am begging, come with haste. We are few but we are brave. Their guns are getting closer and I fear the walls won't last another day. To the people of Texas. To all Americans in this world. We never will surrender, we'd sooner perish by the sword. CH. For thirteen days we've fired our guns. And it's too late now for us to run. We pray that god will save our souls If we ever leave the Alamo Inst. We can hear you Santa Anna, saying we can never win this fight. We see your soldiers moving and your bayonettes flashing in the early light. You'll storm across our barricades like rushing waves along some rocky shore But remembering the Alamo will haunt you for evermore. CH.
