Better late than never © Vic Arnold 2012 All those years had flown by And he never took the time to walk up to her Too stubborn to ask for a kiss, Too busy on the farm to find the nerve So he watched her walk on by each day, Contented from a distance just to see her Now people stand there whispering It's a shame he didn't get what he deserved Ch But better late than never He has found his own way somehow To say it's better late than never It'll never be better than now Instrumental When they laid him in his best suit In his pocket was a folded piece of paper Addressed to one fine lady Who had come with others just to say farewell Before they carried him away She smiled and placed a kiss upon his forehead Then as the crowd all walked away She read his words in silence to herself Ch 2 It's better late than never He had found his own way somehow To say it's better late than never And it will never be better than now
