Devil By My Side I’m making plans for future days For brand new starts and changing ways Seems so familiar once more I know I’ve walked this path before Night falls down but theres no place that I can hide Theres a devil walking constantly by my side Never leaves me always with me and he’ll never die I see no good in anything I’ve ever tried to do All I did was take a lie and tried to make it true Now it all just seems so stupid cause I never tried I close my eyes for sleep to find Theres nothing there to ease my mind An Everest blocking my road Where will I find the peace I’m owed I’d like to think that I know but I can’t be sure Theres a devil lurking just behind every door I can’t see him, I can’t hear him but I know he’s there Every morning In the shaving mirror I can see Theres a devil and he’s staring out right back at me Freaks me out and makes me suffer more than I can bear In my dreams I find everything comes easy Give me peace of mind in something just a little less sleazy Words and Music © Graeme Lang 2012
