Story behind the song
Inspired by the photographs of the late Eric Wright (see pic) that he took of sunrises at Byron Bay, Australia. He told me he liked the song. Rest In Peace, Eric, hopefully surrounded by Orchids.
Lyrics
Lyrics & Music © By Pete Dowan (SOCAN) MASTERPIECE 1st VERSE: Welcome the birth of a new summer day From the blue of the bay Comes the sun rising out of a water bed Look at the sky how it blushed at the sight And so flushed is the night That it hurries to bury its head CHORUS: I FEEL SUCH A JOY I COULD CRY WATCHING A CANVAS ON HIGH CHANGING IN FRONT OF MY EYES 2nd VERSE: Ranging in shades from a blue to a red Such a view fills my head With a feel that defies any adjective Framing it all are the clouds in their white Looking proud in the light To be part of a beautiful sight. CHORUS: I FEEL SUCH A JOY I COULD CRY WATCHING A CANVAS ON HIGH CHANGING IN FRONT OF MY EYES INSTRUMENTAL BREAK: Framing it all are the clouds in their white Looking proud in the light To be part of a beautiful sight. CHORUS: I FEEL SUCH A JOY I COULD CRY WATCHING A CANVAS ON HIGH CHANGING IN FRONT OF MY EYES (Repeat)..... Pete Dowan, E-mail: pdowan@aol.com
