Stoney Bones
Born under a full moon, blessed by the four winds, and washed in the mothers water, presented to the world as a shamans gift, Stoney Bones was a troubled youth, and he grew into a wandering soul. till the fateful night in the backroom of the Shovel Head lounge. Where he accidently brushed across the strings of a plugged in kranked to ten 6 string. it was as if the shaman himself had arranged this meeting. He stole away to the shack in the swamp and woodshedded for an eternity, learning the licks of the masters, Hendrix, Skynyrd, Clapton, Gilmour, Van Halen, King, Guy, and every god that ever strangled a six string for love. Stoney only ventured out at night, to the seedy bars and band battles and concert halls, to develop his craft, and along the way he picked up, some twisted up sorts to jam with, and they formed a hodge podge eclectic mix of rock, blues, soul r & b, funk, and even some twang, all put in the cauldron and stirred with a witches finger to form the distinct Stoney Bones sound. There were rumours that Stoney played on the backstage at Woodstock, behind the curtain, backing up the greats, and that he gave lessons to some punk kids out in L.A. named Joe, Steve, and Paul in the mid-eighties, and that his 24th demo was stolen in seattle in 89' and was copied by some fairly well known guys, hell we even heard he caught the infamous Zeppelin mud-shark, but us Stoney Bones fans and friends know the truth, and we are saving that for the true hollywood story. Stoney left this physical world in a mass of controversy, along the lines of Morrison, he just sort of vanished one night in the middle of his guitar solo, he always said he hated the spotlight and preferred to be behind the curtain being the backup man for his band. and only a few know the truth, so if you get out to the show, be well in knowing that Stoney is always on stage with us, in spirit, or did the curtain just move?
