Stitchface
Stitchface are a ska-core band from New Zealand, blending raucous punky choruses with catchy brass melodies...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band was formed in 2003 and spent a solid six months practicing before heading out on the live scene in 2004. The first year saw shows racked up with a wide variety of acts including This Night Creeps, The Managers, The Offbeats, The Deadline, Love Like Electrocution (Aust.), Stardrunk, Autozamm and many more.
Over time, the band's sound has become more edgy and less poppy, with the vocals becoming more abrasive and more distorted guitars creeping into the upstroke-led songs.
Stitchface have recorded their debut EP, "Night of the Living Thread", out on Stakeout Records.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've only played inside New Zealand so far, but memorable shows include Auckland's Underground Fest '04 and Wellington's Punkfest '04 - nothing quite like hundreds of punks of all ages skankin' it up!
