A one-man-band, Florida Horror Rock
Band/artist history
First it started as just me, Carrion, i was heavily inspired by the legendary punk band The Misfits, and the horror/comedy movie, "Monster In The Closet". At first, just hearing the name inspired a song, the first song i ever made up on bass, i was 15 at the time. I called the song "Mommy Whats in the Closet" and recorded it under the name Radiation Killed Us All. Back then i didnt have a drum set, my parents always told me it's too expensive and you can't shut em' off. So i used a keyboard with drum effects. first i layed down the bass track then recorded the fake drums over it. the recording was really bad, i didnt even have a bass amp, i recorded directly into the cpu. the result was a guitarless very raw-sounding horror punk song. After that song that same week i put together "Tipping Gravestones" and "Skullkeeper" which i made up accidentally while i was trying to remember how to play "Tipping Gravestones". I had recentley moved to Jacksonville, NC. you know how it is when your a so called "punk", nobody talks to you because they think your gonna blow up the school. Being a Marine base, the school was full of those tight-ass rich apex kids. Well anyway i heard of 2 cousins named Nick and Chris who had been forever trying to get a band going. At the time they weren't really into the horror punk scene, they weren't too familiar with the Misfits. So i showed them the songs i had recorded under RKUA and they liked it, so we decided to set up a day to just jam together, after about 2 weeks, Stichid was born 12/10/03. The first song we put together was "Angelblood", then came "Dead Lady Love Scream" then "Beautifully Dead", then "Beloved Dr. Frankenstein" then "Julie Is A Vampire" then "Hollow Dreams" we also did other song which i forgot how to play and they weren't really Stichid's style. And now in 2005 since my departure from NC, i've had a lot of material building up inside, and so now i do all the songs pretty much by myself, I now record under the name Carrion, but i still post my new material as Stichid songs because im trying to keep the legacy alive. So far i've put together "Walk With Me", "Insides Out", "Monster Youth", "The Urge"and "I'd Rather Die".
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not at the moment, i do everything by myself, its hard to do it all live
Your musical influences
im heavily influenced by the Misfits, H.I.M, and Balzac
What equipment do you use?
I'm not a rich kid, i reocrd everything in my room, a very small room actually, i use a my slow-ass compaq presario computer from like 98' and this recording program called Acoustica, which is really easy for me to use. Amps, i use my friends Rogue combo amp, and my set is a 300$ crapy Rogers set w/ evans heads and Zildjian cymbals
Anything else?
All the songs i post on this page, I've done bymyself
