Hi everybody, and thanks for stopping by my Soundclick site..!! It looks as though I am now a legitimate part of "The Back Country Connection" a.k.a.: BCC and proud to be a part of a very unique blend of individuals. Mr. Ray Bertram (my main lyricist) and John Surbaugh, have put their hearts and souls into making the BCC come to life. The BCC is not an actual "band" per say....it is a group of folks from around the world, taking part in projects with each other, be it music, video, production or writing. I am personally a writer and producer. Not being seasoned enough to write lyrics strong enough to embark on a run at "mainstream" success, I happened to run into these folks at the Songwriter101 forum. It's a forum dedicated to singers and songwriters who converge from all around the world looking to network with each other to help get their music heard, and/or talents out there, and follow their dreams. It's a wonderful site and I have been blessed with meeting some of the most incredible people I have ever had the privilege to know. They have all helped me SO MUCH through some recent difficult times, and I could never thank them all enough..!! They all know who they are..!!
Anyway, I will post my music as I finish. I don't have the greatest voice on the planet, especially after singing 7 straight hours...lol....but I'll do the best I can for you to give you an idea of my writing style and where I am at..!! For the most part I write in a Country-pop genre, sometimes it goes Southern Rock influenced, and occassionally Alternative Country..!! I just never know what's gonna pop out..!! Thank you for stopping by....and please feel free to comment on anything you like...or dislike....If you are also a writer and feel you may be interested in a co-writing collaboration, please feel free to contact me. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to express myself..!! Meanwhile, while helping the BCC, I will embark on my own thing here, and try to keep things as up-to-date as possible, adding songs as frequently as possible and keeping everyone abreast of new developments with the BCC...chao..!!

Ok....time to post The Music City Star....again a very rough demo..with lyric written by my very good friend Ray Bertram and he collaborated with Jesse Blackwell...who I have not had the opportunity to meet...or thank yet.....graet job by both..!! They really make it easy for me to come with a music production and arrangement because of their combined talents...hat's off to both of you..!! I have been influenced by so many artists I think it would be easier to tell you who I was NOT influenced by.. :-) ....Beatle, Stones, Billy Joel, Carol King,What equipment do you use?
I write with a pencil and yellow legal pad (ha ha)...really, I play guitar,a Fender Stratocast American Standard with vintage noiseless pickups, a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 combo, a Zoom G-1, Digi-Tech BP-80, Boss DS-1, Vox Cooltron Snake Charmer Compressor, a Roland V-Drum kit, and a basic Yamaha Bass Guitar. I record in the box..Toshiba Satellite Laptop with not enough memory, Cubase AI4 with Yamaha's MW8CX 4 channel mixer, 2 LDC's (M-Audio Nova, MXL-007, SM58 Beta)...I think I have a few Shure PG48's sitting around somewhere but have no need for there use yet. I record everything except vocals, straight to the board (on ocasion 'll mike the amp) in my tiny mobile home bedroom.....it's an adventure for sure..!! I have fallen asleep on my bed with a guitar still hanging around my neck MANY nights....lolAnything else?
Just hoping to continue to grow as a writer and maybe someday write something mainstream enough to get picked up by a publisher. That's my goal....and the "dream that won't die".
