Stephen Matthews
Welcome to my "guitar" based music site!!
Many of you know me by the music I write and record as "Digital Storm". (www.soundclick.com/digitalstorm)
Well, This is an introduction to another side of my musical personality. My roots are guitar based blues & rock. I love to "jam" and many of these songs collected here are prime examples.
On this site you will hear new guitar based songs along with some tracks dating back 10 or more years. Many of these recordings were never intended to be "released" but I have decided to share the past right along side the present.
Some of these songs were lifted from analog tapes that I thought were damaged or lost but have been recovered and/or restored. Many of these are in "un-mastered"demo form so don't expect to hear polish and shine.
What I hope you DO hear is emotion and just the raw music.
You hear glimmers of my guitar influences when listening to my "Digital Storm" songs(mainly the ones with guitar solos) but on this site you will hear them full blown!!
I hope you enjoy this very different style from the "Digital Storm Sound" side of my music.
Make sure and stop by "Digital Storm" soundclick site to hear ALL of my original music and what I am up to the most these days!!

Thanks!
Stephen MatthewsBand/artist history
While I've been playing in bands since I was literally 6 years old, it was not until I turned 13 that my love for the guitar and ripping solos
came to the surface.
I love blues based rock and "hard" rock with a mean riff. The freedom that comes from that style of music is the BEST for improvisation.
While I do not consider my music "blues", I think you will hear the inlfuence in my style.
Once I turned 16 I was in the studio recording my first guitar rock record. It was great! I had been in the studio many times before on other projects but this was my OWN and it felt great!
I've written many different styles ranging from vocal tracks to instrumentals. As I continue to write new material and also go through my archives and post them here, you will find many of them both!
I now primarily focus on my "Digital Storm" material the most.
However, I still love striaght forward guitar rock and will always be playing it!!!Have you performed in front of an audience?I used to play this material live quite often.
Now days you will find me playing live on Saturday nights and Sundays in one of 2 praise & worship bands I am a member of.
In addition, I am always thinking about grabbing my guitar and/or Bass, a couple of bandmates and going JAM CRAZY!!!!

Nice Work.. Keep it Up..check me out when you have a chance...Like I just said over at the hangout, anybody who lists Phil Keaggy as a guitar hero is way cool in my book. Phil's one of my all time favorites, and I can hear some of that influence, good licks!

Hi Stephen, Just came by from Digital Storm last night, and your Dad's tonight. I'm still in awe at the talent you both have! Here we sure see the other side of you, a brill guitar player. My favorites (added to my stations) are "Slow Burn" (amazing guitar) "Kick back" and "Blueberry jam" I'm not a musician, and not overly into this genre, so can't comment from that perspective. All I know is that your material rocks! Carol.
