Experimental & Alt Power Pop Music | 4 tracks and 34 streams.

Stephanie Rearick is a pianist, vocalist, songwriter, sometimes trumpeter. She is one of the founding members of Madison, Wisconsin's now-defunct garage-cabaret, circus-rock outfit The Coma Savants. She regularly performs solo on the aforementioned instruments plus a little electronic manipulation. Rearick's style is pop-ish, classically-influenced art music sometimes tinged with cabaret. Rearick is currently recording/producing her third studio solo album, working title "Star Belly." Most recording is being done at 14 Lonely Studios, with one track slated for recording at Big Recording Studio with Ed Reardon engineering, and another session scheduled at Wendy Bugatti's Coney Island. Last but not least, Rearick won the 2004 MAMAs (Madison Area Music Awards) for Best Classical Album (The Bucket Rider) and Best Classical Artist.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live as often as I can, most often in Madison, Wisconsin and Chicago. Lately I've been performing at a local cabaret show. Still looking for a go go girl to accompany me...I'm also planning a fall tour that will take me from Madison to the East coast.
Your musical influences
Bjork, Laurie Anderson, David Bowie, Jeff Kowalkowski, Velvet Underground, Debussy, Bartok, Kurt Weill, Cat Power, Tom Waits
What equipment do you use?
Electric keyboard, trumpet, various percussion, and Boss looping machine.
Anything else?
"I would like to be able to make a living at it, which I currently don't, but that's something to work toward. I think it would be nice in general if more people could make a living doing art they really enjoy, whether they are good at it or not." -- interview, October 2003
