FAQ
Why would I need a license?
A license is needed if you want to use the music for anything else than just listening for your pleasure. Typical uses are
- freestyling over a beat
- licensing music for use in TV or for a movie
- remixing or use audio samples
What are the license options and what are the differences between those?
We offer up to 5 license templates (Basic, Premium, Track Out, Unlimited, Exclusive) and it's up to the artist which ones he/she wants to make available. Each license comes with different perks. In general, the higher the price, the better the perks.
You can click on each feature on the left side of the comparison chart above to learn more about each one.

When will I get the track I purchased?
You can download all related files immediately after your purchase. We also email you a one-time download link for a download later.
How can I remove the audio tag from the track?
A "tagged beat" is a demonstration version of an instrumental that contains distinct audio watermarks that typically play throughout the entire track. The purpose of a producer tagging his/her instrumental is to prevent piracy and to encourage serious recording artists to purchase a license.
To get a tag-free audio please make sure you purchase a license which features "untagged audio".

I purchased a $1 download, why is the beat still tagged?
Beats purchased for $1 in our store are meant for streaming and demo use only, just like downloads from iTunes store or Amazon music.
To license a beat without audio tag and to use in a professional manner please buy a license from this page. Usually those are $25 and up.

What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file
you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.

Hi, I am Stan! I play a guitar with backing tracks and sometimes real people.
I grew up in Chicago and fell in love with the guitar after a Blind Lemon Jefferson show at the Chicago University that my cousin took me to. I pushed my piano on the side for a while but after I saw ELP! I found a PAiA synth kit and learned to solder (ha), stayed up for three days and discovered new ways to make music.
Youthful ENERGY!
After school got out, I visited my sister in Miami and stumbled into a gig with Cameron Sound. I was on a crew working with ZZ Top and Charlie Daniels and tons of huge arena acts - Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck... It gave me a glimpse at the other side of the music biz.
That opened the door for many audio jobs. This was early in the rockshow biz and not as refined as it is today. I had work but still wanted to write my songs and play guitar.
I was given the chance when a 3-piece band I was working for wanted to add a second guitar. They heard me playing and I was asked join. I tried to turn it down, not wanting to mix my work with my passion but eventually stepped in and helped form The Kind from Chicago. Best decision I ever made!
Now I have come full circle to my own music. I am performing again and producing many older (and newer) songs. I hope you enjoy my music...

Band/artist history
I start playing piano at around 4 and guitar around 11. Classical to The Monkeys and Beatles. Then Elvis Costello and the 80's happened... It took a while but I found my love for old cowboy movies and EDM. I try to blend these feelings...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Oh yessss! From small spaces to thousand seat halls. Once I stood in front of 70,000!
Your musical influences
I found acoustic music first, then synthesisers and finally electric rock guitars. Everything from CSNY to Black Sabbath!
What equipment do you use?
I use Harmony guitars both acoustic and electric with Thomastic-Infield Strings (Flat). I try to install Tronical tuners on them. It's so much easier when Im playing live to keep in tune. My live ants vary from an older Gibson Scout to Matgntone.
Anything else?
I am still in love with music and continue to explore new ways to make music!
