Stacy Puckett was raised in a small town in southwestern Virginia. Over the last 15 years he has lived and gigged regularly from coast to coast. His music fuses strong appalachian folk and delta blues influences into a mix of contemporary folk, rock, punk and country blues.
Musically he has pursued the singer/songwriter path early, and more recently adopted and embraced the "One Man Band" as a true Americana artform unto itself.
Currently he is embracing a more 'primal' approach to music, using on the fly live recording techniques using vintage and affordable (usually free) equipment.
He is equally at home playing country, Dylan, bluegrass, delta blues or straight ahead rock, and much of his original material reflects this.
His newer recordings feature his handmade Cigar Box Guitars, homemade "stompboards" and other primitive instruments. They have become his sonic pallette of choice to help take his music where he envisions it now. "I feel the public is really over saturated with perfect music. Programmed drumbeats, looped guitar riffs, and sterile midi sequences have white washed much of today's popular music down to the point where there's no emotion left. I think people want to hear mistakes again. People want to hear genuine music again, and good songs." - Stacy PuckettHave you performed in front of an audience?Yes, mostly music festivals, but he'e been known to do the occasional club gig if the situation is right. Contact him if you're interested in bringint me to your area or venue.
Your musical influences
John Hiatt, Tom Waits, Loudon Wainwright, Tom Petty, John Prine, Bob Dylan, Todd Snider, Victoria Williams, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Leftover Salmon, Soul Asylum, Ryan Adams, Greg Brown, Ani DiFrianco, Nanci Griffith, Chris Isaak, R. Everything is made be me other than an occasional Hollow body electric I like to play. I use whatever Cigar Box guitar I have around that I haven't sold, Cookie Tin Banjo's, homemade electric bass, a M&M can shaker, and my "Stompboard", just a flower box with a huge cookie tin and some tin lids nailed to it.Highway 2

Stacy I know a few of the roads you travelled. Poverty is indeed the road you travel, if you want the truth. BTDT 2goth4u
