Stacey James, is a 22 year old Puerto rican, Irish and German female from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She had a love for music at a very young age, as her mother was a singer aswell. Growing up listening to Motown legends such as Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations and much more. She developed a passion and her own flavour for soul.
Stacey James began singing around the house at a very young age, then started writing poetry at the age of 9, that soon after became song lyrics at age 11. By the time she was 13 she was writing full lyrical songs with melodies and beginning to compose on the keyboard. Shortly after she met a group of guys that had a local hip hop group named " Headlina Tracks". She joined with them writing songs, & hooks for their songs and performing at various places at age 14.
For 5 years Stacey worked with the group that soon after changed to "Deepcave Productions". Always composing, and writing on the side she decided to explore. After searching Stacey came across a band named "GroovePort". Stacey was very impressed with the style, wrote a song at the audition and sure enough she is now the lead vocalist & songwriter of a funk/soul/blues/jazz/rock/etc band.
Stacey James is currently in the works of putting together a solid 10 piece,soul, r & b, blues band.Consisting of all the music she's been patiently waiting to showcase.
