Sprinkler Shutoff
Sprinkler Shutoff is a 3-piece punk band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Mike plays guitar as well sings, which the duty is shared with bassist Kevin, while Matt is on drums.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
A couple of years ago, Mike had the idea of creating a band, so he talked to Kev. The two jammed here and there while Kev was still wondering about the idea, due to the break up of his prior band. After the groove was flowing a bit, they added Matt to the picture. It was a little awkward at first because the three individuals who came together also came from different musical tastes as well. Mike was into the rock scene, Kev's always been a punk guy, and Matt listened to a lot of metal and rock. It took awhile, but they seem to enjoy some of each others' music collection and finally writing songs with some of the ideas all three can relate to.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have our rehearsal space in Mike's basement, which Kev has unofficially named "Van Meato's" We've played various venues around Calgary. And still we're striving to put on more shows. Do we like playing? If you could think of all the time spent in rehearsal or a studio, it all pays off when you put on a good stage show and please the crowd in front of you.

Senses Fail, Finch, Gob, Godsmack, Blink-182, Alexisonfire, Alkaline Trio, Nickelback, Anti-Flag, Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, Kiros, Drive-Thru Records, and many other bands but the general idea is based on some of these bands.

Mike - Fender guitars, Peavey Amp, Boss multi-effect processor, Dunlop picks, Samson mics, and Ernie Ball strings.
Kev - Fender basses, Yorkville Amp, Korg tuner, Samson Wireless, Samson mics, Dunlop picks, and Ernie Ball Strings
Matt - Yamaha drums, Zildjian and Sabian Cymbals, and Vic Firth sticks
