spoonPhase
Ambient/experimental-IDM that will explore the calmest moods, and turn quickly to the violent big brother. Inconsistency is the consistency here.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
An an electronic artist, my career started in October of 2002 as, thE sounD of dirT. With thE sounD of dirT, I explored MANY different genres like Industrial, Drum n' Bass, Post Hardcore, Glitch, Ambient, Experimental, IDM, Gothic, Horror, Trance... basically about everything but then I did an album called Songs for Psychos - part I and I really found my calling in the ambient/experimental-IDM field. So I created a second artist name to accomodate this wonderful event. thE sounD of dirT still exists and can be found here on soundlick... but it is reserved for other sounds.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do play live, but it's mostly with my other band, which is more indie-rock. In that I play drums.
Your musical influences
I'll start with artists:
Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, AFX, LFO, Nightmares on Wax, Bjork, Polygon Window, Prodigy, etc.
In my music, you will find a strong pull towards everyday life... I like to focus on otherwise dull events and turn them into something more focused. Also, the people in my life have been a great influence... family, friends... other musicians.. I try to take something from everyone and everything.
What equipment do you use?
i cannot disclose that... ;-) but i have been known to scrape forks on plates, bang tin sheets, scream like a maniac, and crumple plastic bags
Anything else?
