Oxford has a long tradition of being the birthplace of successful bands, from recent years a number of chart toping bands have originated from Oxford. However, not every talented musician strives for chart fame; as a result, Oxford is host to a great many capable musicians who prefer to mix their music with other pastimes or means of employment. This state of affairs has existed for many many years.

Split The Riff is a 9 piece blues & boogie band bringing together some of Oxfordshire's long established musicians in this field delivering the driving beat from not only a talented rhythm section but the unbeatable sound of a 4 piece horn section, The Shower of Power Horns (also know as The Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse).
