Quick test of my recording rig on my new laptop.
Background blues for a Youtube video. Played on a Fender Stratocaster into Strymon Iridium that thought it was a Vox AC30, into a Strymon Cloudburst in ensemble mode, into Scarlett 2i2, into Cakewalk.
Fiona Garde Band at the Perth Blues Club, Tue 25 Jul 2023, playing a cover of Need You Tonight, based on Bonnie Raitt's cover of the same tune.
Snippet of song recorded in 1995 for cheap demo. Rhythm guitars: Strat & Les Paul into Marshall JMPs. Solo: Telecaster, neck pickup, into JMP & 4xGreenbacks.
This is just a bit of noodling around on a nasty old Norlin Les Paul loaded with some Skatterbranes, into a late 60s WEM Copicat tape delay, going into my little tweed Champ knockoff (modified 5F1 in a tweed Princeton cab with a 10" speaker).
Demo of my single-ended 6L6 amp, based loosely on a Champ 5F1. The differences between this amp and a 5f1 are: * runs 6L6s or 6V6s * preamp voiced like Fender or Marshall, switchable; * larger cab (tweed Princeton size); and * 10" speaker, not 8".
Demo of home made 5E3 amp, built using Mable Audio chassis, transformers and valve bases. Other bits and bobs from Mojo. I built the cab, and stuck a Weber 12A125 speaker in it.
A snippet of a thing we were working on a few weeks ago, played through my Champ clone, with bass through some Marshall bass combo, with the drummer on some electric drum kit. Live mic recording ambient sound.
My band covering the old ZZ Top classic.
My band in rehearsal, playing AC/DC's Riff Raff. Guitar amp is Mongrell (TM) plexi / tweed cross designed by Jim Wills, at 30 Watts, through 2x12 Celestion G12M-70s. Recorded on ZoomH2 placed on floor between guitar amp and drums. Not a great sound.
Slightly longer demo of Mongrel amp, designed by Jim Wills. Guitar was Les Paul Classic with P-90s by Perry Ormsby into amp into 2x12" cab. Recorded using ZoomH2 at a distance of about 1.5 m. Amp inputs were jumped, amp was rather loud.
Very short 12 bar demo of amp, showing response to changes to pick attack, volume, and pickup. Guitar is Les Paul Standard with Skatterbrane Waterbranes. Cab is homemade 2x12 with Celestion G12M-70s
