Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
To some, becoming a hip-hop artist is simply a distant dream that often gets lost in the unpredictable script of life. Opportunities to build in the industry are frequently out of reach and unavailable. However, those with ambition and drive find a way to overcome the obstacles standing in their way and somehow manage to make something out of nothing. Spictacular is one of these people. Born Juan Carlos Lopez in the impoverished Central American country of Guatemala, he grew up with the determination he needed to make something of himself. At the tender age of five, Spic and his family were forced to leave his war-torn country and start a new life in Canada where he was first introduced to the sounds of hip-hop. In the early 90s, hip-hop was growing and so was its influence on Spic. He began to write at the age of thirteen, but a future in hip-hop was a farfetched aspiration at the time. Through the years he became a self-supportive youth, turning to the streets, where he soon made a name for himself as an aspiring battle rapper. In 2000 Spic's infatuation with hip-hop intensified and he began recording for his Mixtape entitled, "Lyracall Bullets". Among other collaborations, it contained the track "Mi Gente (my people)" featuring Prince Oso. The mixtape marked the beginning of his formal career as a lyricist. By 2002 the name Spictacular was known by most hip hop headz in the Vic city area and already had a huge buzz on the streets.This would also be the year that he created one of the most talented groups in Vic city, "3rd World Assasinz" a collective of Minority artists from all parts of the world.This group include R'n'B/Hip-Hop sensation Finesse from Malaysia,Street Hop artist Geebz from Mexico,T.Cruz and Spictacular from Guatemala all these talents combined into one create the soundz of "3rd World Assasinz". Known for his reputation as one of Vic city's finest battle Mc's and for his unique style of flippin his flows from english to spanish at any time.Spictacular is a name people will remember for years to come and 3rd World is here to stay....
