Spencer Fisk
Greetings. My name is Spencer Fisk. I am an Indiana native, which means I hardly ever get to see good live music...maybe 2-3 times a year, when/if my favorite bands listed in the influences decide to venture out to the flatlands. I am just now getting into recording. Any pointers are appreciated.Band/artist history
A long time ago (2000), in a galaxy far, far away (Purdue), I started playing guitar after getting turned onto Phish and being amazed at Trey. For the first 4 years or so, I focused on electric, taking some lessons here and there, including from Clayton Miller, a phenomenal blues guitarist with an absolutely amazing family blues band that you should check out. Unfortunately none of his skills rubbed off. For the last 2 years or so, I have been playing mainly on acoustic with the last 1.5 years focused on bluegrass flatpick stuff. Just started trying to sing 3-4 months ago, and am enjoying it, so I do some open mic stuff here and there. I'm not much of a song writer, so I am sticking to covers right now. There's a lot of good music out there.Have you performed in front of an audience? Some. Open mic. Enjoy it, but very nervous. Open mic 3-4 months ago was the first time I have ever played and sang in front of anybody, other than my wife...(and drunken sessions around the campfire with my brothers).
My buddy's blues band was gracious enough to let me hack away with them on stage a couple of times...awesome!
