Spagirus is an experimental/drone project that operates with the intent of producing a listening environment conducive to expanding awareness of pure sound.

Yes, so far mostly in the midwest and southeast of the U.S.

The forest just outside the city, subterranean spaces, cloistered areas, and the voices of our circuit powered brothers and sisters, oh how they hum. William S. Burroughs, James Joyce, and Shakyamuni. John Cage, Morton Feldman, Pauline Oliveros, Ellen Fullman, Coil, Dead Voices On Air, Richard Chartier, Stars of The Lid, Nurse With Wound, Bernhard Guenter, Zoviet France, Kevin Drumm, Troum, Mirror, Birchville Cat Motel, Thuja, Lovely Midget, Toshimaru Nakamura, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Sogar, Phil Niblock.
What equipment do you use?
Acoustic instruments: prepared mountain dulcimer (a Spagirus original instrument as far as I know), didjeridoo, tibetan bowls and bells, Chinese and Indian flutes, Sitar, my voice, recorded ghost voices, Voodoo spirit whistle, jaw harp, djimbe, pots, acoustic guitars (small and large), slide whistle, harmonica, gopichan, agogo, and divers small noise makers. Electronics: A Marantz digital recorder for field recordings, digitech RP100, digitech pds 8000, various dynamic and condenser mics, cool edit, puredata, and audacity to mix it all on the desktop and jeskola buzz machines and ableton live for real time work.
