DJ Southpaw is a jungle DJ specializing in Ragga Jungle. He's been at in now for 8 years and he's tearin shit up these days. Some of the tracks you'll hear will be ragga, but not all of them. Hope you enjoy 'em.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Southpaw started spinning breaks in 97 in the south. He had friends that were both breakbeat and jungle DJs. At the time, jungle music was just a baby in the U.S. and nobody had any idea that it was going to blow up the way it did. In 2000 he started making his own tracks. 2002, joined a band called The Monkey Farm. Took some time off to have a baby, (well, not him personally) and now he's back. Spinnin Ragga Jungle again. And look how it's changed in just a couple of years, damn.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Of course. Where ever he can. It's one of his favorite things in life, it keeps him sane. Special moments? Fall of '98, after hours party, Morgantown, WV. Party was shut down and moved to two locations. He opened the Jungle party to a pumped up crowd ready to hear some bass, and he dropped some Conga Natty Ragga shit (promos, still warm off the press) that made everyone stop, take notice, and dance for all they were worth.

Everything from Punk, Ska, Rock, Hip Hop and Electronic. Screw country!!!!!!!
What equipment do you use?
Two Technics Turntables, a Rane mixer, Acid Pro, Fruity Loops, Lots and Lots of Samples.
