Southern Soul
Southern Soul is a rock band from the southern most tip of Texas, Weslaco to be exact. We play music from way down deep in side our soul hence the name Southern soul, very brutally honest and real as hell. Music that every one can relate to. Music to make you party out while taking things in stride. Music to crack open a beer to, dance, sing, jam and let things slide........
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Founded by Hugo Yanez .jr (guitar) and Isreal Carrillo (bass) and later joined by Rick Balderas (drums) and Robert Lopez (vocals). Hugo aka. wille brown and Isreal aka. spiceman had been working on songs together and jamming out with Rick aka. blackman when Robert aka. bobcat came across his old spiceman on the net. " Hey whats up dude you jammin' or what" said bobcat. "Hell yea come and jam out with us". So bobcat headed over to willie browns house with his lyrics and the guys pretty much busted out about 5 songs right away, and the rest is history
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
hell yea! we play live all over the Rio Grande Valley, and were looking in to playing central Texas some day, so watch out San Antonio and Austin.....
