Sound Vibe
Sound Vibe
We're Sound Vibe and we dream BIG. To some people it may sound korny or unrealistic, but for us it's a dream we intend to pursue. We want to be one of those few unsigned bands in Georgia that make it big and have the oppertunity to tour around the world. Many people who take on the guitar, bass, drums, singing, etc. have dreams similar to ours. It just so happens that we are actually working towards making our dream come true. We're a very young band. When most people think of unsigned bands trying to make it into the music industry, a group of fifteen year old guys isn't usually what first comes to mind. They think of bands that are at least in their twenties and who have been playing music together for quite some time. We honestly don't expect to have anything huge happen to us anytime soon in terms of record deals or labels. Right now we are strictly playing to have a good time and learn new things to make us better as a band. We look at it as getting a head start, and then five to ten years down the road is when our time finally comes. The thing is, just because we're not going to have anything happen to us just yet doesn't mean we don't take what we do seriously. We honestly almost take things too seriously. We stress ourselves out so much busting our asses to get things "perfect" or just to get things done, that often times we have to take a step back and remember why we really do what we do. Music is about the love of playing. If you don't love what you do, then why do it? We love music with a passion, and this band is a pretty big part of each one of our lives. So all that pretty much sums up our dream as a band and why we play music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Sound Vibe started out as a four person band. JP Cortez (SV_DrummeR) was the one who pretty much came up with the idea to start the band. He knew Brandon Lewis (SV_GuitarisT) from his eighth grade social studies class and throughout the year he kept asking him about playing guitar in a band he was trying to start. At first Brandon wasn't so sure about the idea because he was currently in a band along with John Brawley (SV_BassisT). Needless, to say, things didn't work out so well between that band and they ended up splitting. Brandon then decided to join the band JP had been talking about. At this point, all they really needed was a bassist and a singer. Because Brandon was recently in a band with John, and because John lived in the same neighborhood as JP, it pretty much worked out perfectly. JP had already had someone in mind to fill the singer position of Sound Vibe. His name was Mr. Codie Cottrell. He was/is a great guy and vocalist. Things started out really well for SV, but as soon as they found themselves in a hole, things started to go wrong one after another. Codie is no longer in Sound Vibe due to cirtain situations between the band, and that's all we really need to say about that. So after all this occured, SV was without a singer. That was when Brandon stepped up to the plate and became Sound Vibe's new lead singer. Now we're a trio, but as Brandon likes to call it...a tripod. Although we are young, we have been through a lot and it has only made us grow that much stronger as a band. Sound Vibe is living their dream very slowly and you should definitely expect to hear more from us in the future. -SV-
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We are always trying to get more gigs just to get our name out there. We have a dream and we want to pursue it. Our first gig was with our old singer Codie Cottrell at our Eighth Grade Day Talent Show. We were new to playing in front of a bunch of people so we were a little rough but we had a great time! We've had other gigs, but we're new so it's hard to get a lot of gigs right away.

What equipment do you use?
Instrumentally we use whatever we have/can get. Nothing amazing, but our instruments aren't crappy either...Look at our pictures to see for yourself. Now, Recording-wise, the best sound quality we have for now is our portable, Boss Digital Recording Studio. It's good enough for now...
