Band/artist history

SOGN Founder & CEO, Carl A. Cole (Mr. C), the last of seven Multi-talented Children, was inducted into Music Ministry & Business at the age of three. He exceled in Fine Arts throughout school. When he began college in 1979, he pursued a more professional Career in Music. He created the Company name by inspiration of God. With the help of his Lovely, Talented wife, Dianna (SOGN General Manager)...Multi-faceted son, Andrew (Drummer & Studio Engineer/Soundclick Member)...life-time singing Buddy, Frank Robinson (SOGN Vice President)...and a host of extraordinary singesr & musicians, SOGN will Celebrate its 25th Anniversary on September 25th (Mr. C's 43rd Birthday).

Have you performed in front of an audience?

SOGN specializes in Music Performance & Production. We are very proud to be active as a "Live" Band and Recording Studio in our Region, including Chicago and Southern Wisconsin. We love it!!!...ALL THE TIME!!!

Your musical influences

Starting as a Church Music Minister, Singer & organist, like many Historic Giants in the Industry, Mr. C admired regional accomplished Sacred pianists. After further personal studies of Ragtime, Swing, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Pop & Hip Hop...through names like: Scott Joplin, Thomas "Fats" Waller, "Duke" Ellington, W. C Handy, Nat "King" Cole,Art Tatum, Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey, Donny Hathaway & Stevie Wonder...Mr. C became a "Musician for All Occasions"...with "fat" sounds and rich instrumentation.

What equipment do you use?

SOGN uses Yahama & Kurzweil Keyboards, Drums, Clarinet, Sax, Trumpet, Bass & Guitar. We are very blessed to have experienced, polished Musicians & Singers.

Anything else?

SOGN also has a Youth Choral Group called: the FREEDOM SINGERS. We strongly believe in giving Kids "Inspiration in Education". We also have a Gospel Trio, "Jazz Express" Combo and Living Legends in the SOGN Family.
