Sound Scientist
Influences lead me to this place. Not like there ain't no feel in it. I guess its about feeling the need to conribute more largely than just being on the other side of 5' or 8' driver and admiring how nice that sounds.
Being in it compelled me to experiment. This lead me to dimensions where I had never been before .. and so I gave into the momentum. Natural Course eh!
Nature of my tracks: Ambient, Dark, progressive
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
No really a band of people here. Found "Reason" in 2005 and "purpose" later that year.
Your musical influences
Pink Floyd... largely... but then cannot deny Potishead, massive attack, zero7, green day, dream theatre, some indian fusion like zakir hussain, trilok gurtu, prem joshua... these guys are just fantastic. Old timers like The Killers, Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley. I also like Incubus, Maroon5, Coldplay.
What equipment do you use?
Edirol PCR A-30 Midi Controller and Keyboard, AKG K271 Cans(to mix). At work(I work at a radio station), I mix on the Genelecs.
Anything else?
Life is an incredible gift that has been packed and flavoured exclusively for each one of us. What we value in it is exactly the same what we value in each other!!!
I just recently found another way of saying the above thing. It happenned while Mr. Trilok Gurtu(one of the best percussionists in our existence)came to our station for a live event.
Quoting him "See God in everyone and strive to be free with everyone. Once the vision of god is obtained in all we see... the freedom is achieved. Don't hold on to this freedom but let it flow in its own course"
Slightly my version :-)
Attended the Roger Waters concert here in Mumbai. Heard him play "Leaving Beirut" live in front of my eyes. The moments of live life maybe short when they take place... the impact they leave on the mind are long lasting. We may not be able to showcase them in a basket but the free re-runs we get in the head are exclusively for us. "The Best things in life are Free".
