soulvasq
soulvasq is a folky acoustic bluesy swingy jazzy funky groovy alternative sort of music with a dash of heavy metal for flavor. and a heavy dose of philosophy.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
started in 1997 when d.g. answered an ad for a local group in hammond. they gelled, and became wiseguy (Mark Vasquez on Bass, Jason Hope on Drums, Johnny Meyer on Guitar, and Dave Solar on Vocals). They broke up, and Mark and Dave stuck it out into DropSwarm (Mark and Dave, Jeff Piekarczyk on Guitar, and Phil Goodrich on Drums). They broke up, and Mark, Dave and Phil stuck it out and formed Soulvasq with keyboardist Jay Garcia. Other members at that time include Dave Gold on Guitar, Eric Smith on Percussion (they left early).
Jay left the band, and soulvasq picked up guitarist/midi synth player Chris Gardner and continued playing. Chris left and they picked up Guitarist Dan Figurell. Recently we've seen Phil Goodrich leave, and Eric Canchola replace him on drums and percussion. Then Dan went to California. And we need a keyboard player. Got all that? There's gonna be a quiz.

Your musical influences
Hmmm.... All of the members are big Faith No More and Mr. Bungle fans. Other influences are sure to include: The Beatles, Mike Oldfield, The Pixies, The Smashing Pumpkins, Frank Zappa, Beck, Bjork, and BB King. Well there's more, but this page is only so long.

All equipment is shaky state.

We stand in the face of anything that anyone has ever said to be true, and call it false.
And all the words we speak up here are also false, and this is true.

And everything that we are doing up here right now is part of that very same distraction, and we want to distract you from it.
