soul rodeo

hey all, my name is rob williams. i've been playing and writing since the late 70's. i love and am inspired by country, rock, jazz, blues , classical and more. most of every thing you hear on my site is written and recorded by me at my home studio. i also co -write with martie van hoosen who also lends her wonderful vocals on some or the tracks. friend and fellow band-mate (sombrance) also lend his vocals on "when i wake up ". i truly hope you find something you enjoy listening too here !! i also have a project called " golgotha wails" much heavier to feed my rock n roll side. you can visit at www.myspace.com/golgathawails
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I played trombone from seventh through ninth grade. When someone stole my mouthpiece, I decided to start playing bass for the jazz band... That's when I started learning and playing the guitar and bass seriously. I started playing mandolin in the late 80's. I have played in many bands and even sat in with a few others - Destiny (later became Clockwork), Epicure, Collision, Strait Up, Theophilus, Lefty Ray's Deck Hand Band, and White Hot, southbound 55, In addition I also sat in on shows for Loretta Lynn, Deliverance and played back up guitar for comedian sean morey.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
soul rodeo is my home recording project. i have played out with several bands in the past including the present band i am with "sombrance" we have played out but are currently in the studio recording a c.d. and looking for a bass player.
