Soul Essence

Originally from Oregon, the group Soul Essence started in 1995 when Andrew Kwon and Dennis Agustin formed an acapella group and began performing at schools and sports games with a few other singers. In 98, Andrew was signed to a big record label in Asia and began his professional career as a group. The album was released in 99 and their song "Waiting" got up to no. 9 in ITV Hiphop Chart, and no. 1 in Total Airplay Broadcasted in a nationwide Radiostation in Korea called SBS. He was thrilled, but also wasnt satisfied with the creative differences with the company. The experience gave him many ideas and knowlege about recording, and producing his own music. During the same time, Dennis worked on his project with other backup vocalists and kept the name Soul Essence. "Im so alone" and "Last night" were released, which was written and produced by Dennis. They have performed in Oregon and Washington, and opened up for many groups including Kai. In 2001 the two have reunited. They decided to work on a project with the experiences they both earned. They started putting together their first full length album. Soul Essence has appeared in many other artists albums as background vocalists and songwriters. Andrew has produced and written three songs for Korean R&B aritst Moon Myung Jins 1st album and sang background vocals for two songs of DMCs 2nd album "Over the top". The album, which is now released, has the hard work theyve prepared for years. They have written, composed, and directed all of the songs in this album.
