Your musical influences
I started listening to hip-hop four years ago, I think. First, commercial, then more and more underground. My main influences are hip-hop producers and some electronica artists. To name some: DJ Premier, Nightmares on Wax, Mekalek, 9th Wonder, Fat Jon, J. Rawls, Locsmif, Four Tet, Large Professor, Greyboy, Bonobo, Necro, Lewis Parker, Nujabes, Pete Rock, Nelly Furtado, RJD2, Nas, Masta Ace, Soul Supreme, Alchemist, Tommy Tee, Kankick... The list goes way, way on. I even forgot my favourite rapper & group, Freddie Foxxx and The Pharcyde.
What equipment do you use?
Fruityloops for drums (kits or old soul & funk breaks, Cool Edit for filtering, Reason 3 for instruments, Magix Music Maker for gathering (it loops if you have cut out the melody to a wave file) and wavelab for bringing out the melodies in a sample.
