Soul Brothers
Soul Brothers is an original fusion band from Cebu, Influenced by reggae, punk rock, funk music, Rock and hip-hop. Although the band started way back 1997 with different band members Jay Dilan pursue carrying the name for the love of music onto the present. It was a long struggle when Jay Dilan was alone and doing his own thing until he had finally met new members for the band. Each member brings their own unique influence into the sound. The new line up for the band were Jay Dilan who hold the microphone for the band, Gilbert Dilan who carry the bass, Elro and Pansit who do the guitars, Randy Russel who play the drums with a drumstick and DJ Yang2x who do his own style of scratching the turntables and together they bind to provide a new way of intensifying the energy for the band and for the listeners. Soul Brothers was formed as an evolution of Jay Dilan's personal project "nailworms". It was in January when Bimbo Baliguat called Jay to put up a band again, Jay start to contact his former bandmates to join the band, and it was the start of the formation of Soul Brothers. It was Zuglu's Valentine Concert in Talisay City, Cebu where they first play as a band, followed by several gigs in different bars in Cebu City like Vudu, the defunct Kahayag and Handuraw, Boss Grill, and on October of 2007 they released the 5 Track "Virtuality EP" at The Outpost. They Became artist of the week on NU107's in the raw on the first week of August 2008 and on October 2008 they played in Club Dredd Eastwood at NU107's in the raw, in the flesh event. 2008 was the time they released 2 new songs namely Star and Radio On and gain recognition little by little, On November of 2009 Soul Brothers became a nominee on NU107 Rock Arwards "In The Raw" Category. A 3 year struggle as an indie band and moving forward as a brotherhhod and as a band.Have you performed in front of an audience?We always do live gig although seldom but we'll always find a time to play. We always start our gig with a talk to the infinite one.
