Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Sorskoot is based in Culemborg (near Utrecht) in the Netherlands. He started producing in the early 90s. In the beginning mostly Hardcore and Gabberhouse. Later Trance and Drum&Bass become more hearable in his music. After being out of the scene for a couple of years, he decided it was time to become heard again.
His main style being Breakbeat with lots of influences of Techno, Trance and Drum&Bass. Distorded synthesizers and massive beats are often used on his tracks.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I'm not playing live at the moment. I have played a lot with different bands in the past though. I'm working hard on different tunes, which I will perform live in the future.
Your musical influences
Sorskoot's music is mainly influenced by Antiloop, Prodigy and Fatboy Slim. But sometimes a bit jazz can be heard too. He's always on the lookout for experimental artists, music as a form of art.
What equipment do you use?
Sorskoot mainly uses Propellerhead's Reason and Cubase. In combination with a Korg Triton and a Korg Electribe AMKII. Every once in a while Sax may be used too. Emu 1820, Emu 0202, Korg Triton, Korg Electribe AMKII, Casio VL10, Yamaha Yas25 altsax, Keilwerth Toneking tenor Sax, Behringer BCR2000, Propellerheads Reason 3, Cubase 2.
