Broken Broken

An upbeat song with a driving rhythm that is catchy right out of the gate. You can definitely tell that we were going for a little flavor of 'The Edge' on the intro of this one

"I have been involved in music for most of my life. It is something that God has put in me and I cannot get enough! What a wonderful journey He has lead me through in life and music so far. Rock, Pop, Folk, Ballads, songs with humor and inspirational praise and worship. Writing songs with God pushing the pen has been my souls desire. God has been the author of it all. It is my desire to serve my Him at every opportunity through the gifts and talents He has given me."
Band/artist history
Sons of Levi began in the Summer of 1994 in Santa Rosa California, It was a dream come true for me in that I finally had a vehicle in which I could express the Songs and music that God had given me. I Met up with some wonderful people there that helped make the music come alive. The very first original line up was, David Hanley (Acoustic Guitar and Harmonica), Jeff Baseheart (Drums and Percussion), Randy Weaver (Bass Guitar), Quincy Follweiler (Lead Vocals & Lead Guitar). Not long into the SOL phenomena (ha ha !!), the line up changed. Randy Weaver (bass guitar) left the group and we began to search for a replacement and also a 2nd vocalist. Wayne Woodliff became our new bass player and friend. Around the same time we met up with Susie Harry who covered all the back up vocals. It was with that Band that I recorded my first full length CD "ENTER IN". It was an awesome experience and because it was my first, it will always have a special place in my heart. In this year Susie Harry left the group and we began to look for a replacement for back up vocals. We went through several (help me Jesus) during this time but there was only one worth mentioning. Wendy Grimwood was a very nice young lady who had a nice voice as well. She became a good friend to the band and played many of the final concerts before the move to the Mid-West. In the midst of confusion and plans of new beginnings, My daughter Jamie 17 at the time, began singing with the band and did several concerts with me in CA right before we left to Ohio. Jamie has always had a natural ability and talent for singing and many other creative arts. She stepped in with an explosion of personality, stage presence and vocal ability. (a chip off the old block if I do say so myself). She has been with me ever since and regardless of where life takes her, she will always be my partner in ministry. August of 1997 I moved my family to Ohio and started over there. I began looking for musicians not long after I arrived there in Mayberry USA (Arcanum Ohio). As I spread the word that I was forming a band in the area, somehow the word got out to Richmond Indiana. It was there that I found several wonderful Christian Musicians that made up a large portion of the new sound of Sons of Levi. First on Board was Jeff Ervin. He and I met and began playing together and we knew it was a good match. Next was Rich Smith, A very kind and humble guy who plays a very solid bass groove. Again he was some one from Richmond IN. Both Jeff and Rich are fairly well known in the music scene there and surrounding areas. Around that same time I had a guy call me from New Paris Ohio. I believe he heard about the forming of the band at a local music store. His name was Steve Whittaker, man he could hit them drums! It all just seemed to come together naturally. It really was a God Thing. God Blessed that ministry and it was in the Summer of 1999 that we released our "Behind The Mask" CD. One of the best things for me about SOL was that I had the honor of standing next to my daughter Jamie and minister with her. She is an awesome vocalist and has been with me ever since in ministry. Later Steve Whittaker stepped away from Sons of Levi to pursue other avenues and that's when Ehrin Anthony joined up with us and again it was a perfect match to what we were doing. Ehrin is a good friend and is quite the talent himself. February of 2001 I moved to Maryland to begin work as a worship pastor with a brand new church start. It was there that I learned so very much. God did a great work and many people came to know the Lord. During my time there I met many wonderful people who made me a better person by knowing them. I was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in October of 2001. Since then God has been working on me and I imagine He'll be working on me until I meet Him face to face. At the end of my second year in MD we began to make plans to come back to the Mid-West. We landed in Richmond Indiana on February 2003. While I was in Maryland, Jeff Ervin and I stayed in contact. We eventually both purchased our own recording gear and began working on a project together long distance. When I arrived here, Jeff, Jamie and I began working hard to finish up our studio CD project "Sons of Levi III". We are now playing together again and Jeff Ervin and I are what you would call a songwriting team. We work together on a regular basis writing songs and recording. It's been real cool! At the end of 2003 I began to get the itch for ministering live in a band sort of a way. I once again put out the ole lets start a band fliers out. First up was Tony Thompson (Bass Guitar) Tony and I had been friends since I first moved to the Mid-West. At that time Tony was the DJ for a radio show out of Richmond IN. called "The Fire Escape". We always thought that it would be cool to play music together. Tony also played with the band "Ancient Hero". Then Pete Woodall (Keyboards) from Greenville Ohio saw a "let's start a band flier" and gave me a call. We seemed to hit it off first thing. We began rehearsals right away. Next was Jeff Fietshans (Lead Guitar) of Greenville Ohio. Jeff Feitshans and I used to run into each other from time to time when he was in his own group called "Faith". Jeff and I became good friends over time and we were visiting one day and started talking about music ministry possibilities. Another good match. Jamie my daughter (Vocalist) has always been my partner in ministry since 1997. She has a definite gift from God. Her ability to find and sing harmonies is remarkable. I don't think I could ever find anyone who could sing as tight with me as she does. Now living in Washington State to be near my Family. "Broken" is our lates project to be released by Christmas. I played for a while wiht a great group of people in a Band called Prodigal. I am now focusing more on writing and plan for a new Version of the SOL band in the spring of 2007 (The Good Lord willing).
