Sonic Noodle Factory
Ive played guitar for a long time - here I post interesting (to me, anyway) acoustical music experimentation.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
When I was young I watched my father tune up a plastic ukulele that had what looked like fishing line for strings and then proceed to strum the hell out of it. He played guitar and sang at picnics, usually with fellow picnickers enthusiastically joining in, and I was inspired by the joy he would bring to those around him. It is now 50 years later, and I am still mesmerized by the sound of a guitar and the joy it can bring.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have performed live throughout my life, with a few professional bands (if beer and tips count as professional) and I occasionally perform at open mics in my area.
Your musical influences
My early influences are my father and classic rock radio in the Philadelphia area. Eventually I tired of the radio and came to listen to more acoustic music - The Milk Carton Kids, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, John Prine - and then looked back to older country artists, like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
What equipment do you use?
Lately, just an acoustic guitar, a few CAD microphones, and a Tascam DP008EX recorder.
Anything else?
I hope that you enjoy my music!
Thanks for listening!
