SONICIDE
Sonicide is a musical phenomenon hailing from the industrial wasteland that is New Jersey..
Members are Alice Axe, Tim Fonda and Jim Hershey.
Their powerful ,original sound ,which is a mixture of metal styles, gives one the sensation akin to that of running wildly through the streets on halloween night.
Sonicide was formed in 1994 as a cover band playing music from many rock styles of the 60's through 90's. Immediately they began writing their own material and recording demos.
In 2000 Sonicide released their first full length hard rocking 9 song Indie CD featured on many sites and airplay on internet radio such as Snakenet Radio. It was digitaly remastered and rerelease in 2003. They are currently working on theor 2nd release. They continue to expand their internet presence and now have built a world wide legion of listeners.
The group have made various live appearances, playing venues like The Saint in Asbury Park, Tin Lizzys in Toms River and the now defunct Birch Hill where the opened for Anthrax all with great response and rapport with their audience.
Sonicide is currently working on new material and refining their skills and sound. Their sound and style is a refreshing hearken back to the days of classic metal songs and feel while still forging ahead in the modern metal arena, affirming them as a presence much welcomed in today's music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band was formed by original members Tim Fonda and Alice Axe in the fall of '93. They started by playing cover tunes as the basis of
their material and began writing originals. Together they completed the music to 'Death by Sound'
