Band/artist history
In March 2002, the idea of forming Somberlain was conceived by bassist Delano Lima, who started the writing process of songs and lyrics to express all the hatred against institutions and ideologies that are based in the weakness and constraints of the human being, mixing technique, aggressiveness and morbidity to conceive an honest and original Death Metal.
In June 2002 the band enters the studio to record their first Demo-CD, Awakening in the Darkness, featuring four compositions, "Awakening in the Darkness", "Morbid War Against Cowardice", "My Darkness" (an instrumental piece) and "Miserable’s Throne", songs, arrangements and lyrics by bassist Delano Lima. For the recordings, he invited drummer Bruno César, vocalist Savage and guitarist Luciano Abreu (R.I.P), the latter stayed as a member in the band until July 2003.
After some line-up changes, Somberlain is established with Marco Aurélio on vocals, being in the band since August 2002, Fabrício Carvalho and Yuri Leite on guitars, both of which joined the band in February 2004 and Delano Lima on bass.
After the promotion of Awakening in the Darkness, where the band played on various Brazilian cities like Natal (RN), Fortaleza (CE), Mossoró (RN), Sobral (CE) and Terezina (PI), Somberlain releases their new Promo-CD, entitled Humanity’s Funeral, featuring four new more extreme and mature compositions and is preparing to tour promoting it.
