Solus Ipse formed in Newcastle in the summer of 2001, after a few name and line up changes they arrived at the Solus Ipse of today.
They formed the band with the intention of performing their own material that was inspired by the music they were all listening to. With influences ranging from Metallica to Cypress Hill and Faith no More to Spineshank their writing style sits well in the heavier side of alternative metal. With each member of the band bringing their own influences to the fray their sound has taken these influences and molded it into something new.
2003 has been their most productive year so far, after spending time writing and practicing new material they finally got back to gigging. After the reaction to these performances they are now looking to gig as often as possible.
