Sold
"A varied and intiguing blend of raw, energetic hardcore, fusing the erratic, with layers of pure, heartfelt melodies"
Sold's style has many influences, from long-lasting acts as Deftones and Tool, to more recent influences such as Killswitch Engage, Glassjaw, and 36Crazyfists.
Sold started gigging late in 2003, and have recently completed their debut 3-track demo, A glimpse of harmony with producer John Hannon, in Essex, England.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band started out as a 3-piece consisting of vocalist Russell Pearson, bassist Gary Trelease, and guitarist Joe Dean. As the band experimented, the need for a drummer was found in friend of the band, Martin Hawke. Martins abilities rapidly improved, showing glimpses of great inventive potential. With a need for something extra, guitarist James Winto Winterflood joined the band and bought with him a rustic, Earthtone9-like style. The band found their groove in the blended styles of emo, metal, and hardcore, and began writing deep, energetic, powerful music. James added backing vocals, adding yet another level to Solds sound.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have played mostly in Essex, England, but hope to expand our gigging experience into London etc. Playing with Breed 77 was pretty cool...
