Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Its refreshing to know that MC's are starting to care what they are rapping about. From the 1st track its easy to realize that SJP takes hip-hop seriusly. Crisp tracks with a MC that has a chip on his shoulder. You won't find any players, pimps or hoes in the SJP camp. Get ready for SJP to bring the old to the new, and be prepared for them to stay. Its been a long time. "I've been listening to hip hop my whole life, and a lot of emcees have been referred to as "The Second Coming." Nas, Ras Kass, Common, Canibus, etc, etc, etc. While I wouldn't Christen the emcee from Smokin Joint as "The Second Coming," I have never in my life heard someone that sounded more like Rakim. And it ain't just the flow-- it's his whole steez. He paints vivid ghetto pictorials that are like candy for your mind's eye. Backed by tight production in the New York circa '92 style, Smokin Joint deliver a near classic underground gem with Wintery Wars. Though it is only five tracks, the EP is just shy of thirty minutes in length. And what it lacks in duration, it more than makes up for in quality. I guarantee you will love this album!" -Jay Seagraves aka Fard, Hip Hop Infinity
