Smokestack (aka Smokestack)
Smokestack (aka Smokestack)
Smokestack is Ann Arbor's premier groove-rock quartet. With emphasis on clever songwriting and tight instrumental arrangements, Smokestack continues to delight and challenge the ears of more and more fans with each passing show. Simply put, it'll make you feel; it'll make you think; and it'll make you dance your butt off. The group consists of James Sibley on keys and vox, Chuck Newsome on guitar and vox, Dan Eichinger on earthy sounds (drums) and vox, and Jacob Chmara on bass and vox. Make sure to keep an eye out for Smokestack's newest upcoming album which should be released this fall.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
After getting their start in 1999, Smokestack has continued build an ever-greater following through their energetic live shows and circulation of live recordings. Although currently focusing on a relatively specific area of the country (Ann Arbor, Detroit, Toledo, etc.), Smokestack plans to branch out substantially following the release of their upcoming album in the Fall.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We are currently playing 5-6 shows per month in the Ann Arbor/Detroit/Toledo area and loving it. We wish we could do more, but are spending much of our time tracking and preparing for our upcoming album. Once the album is released, we will be looking to expand our touring substantially.
