Back in the earlie 90's we started a new style of lingo that we called Tri-Lingual.
Since we grew in a city were english and french were the predominant languages, we mixed our Latin style and language(spanish), to create this new slang. Something that we never expected to be the beggining of a new generation.
Latin cats in Quebec know what our thang is all about. Spreading our tri-lingual music made this new style expand in a way that now we have a new culture living in our city Montreal.
But since the world is so big, we now diversify our music in a way that the whole world could relate to.
We keep it down to earth, yeah we bling, pimp and even kill lyricly, but it's something that stays in your mind when you grow up in the ghetto. When you see these things hapenning in your surroundings, hating the law becomes natural and thungin out becomes a habit.
Basicly Smoked & Blessed is a mix of cultures that keeps you high with that smooth and often raw, kreepy, nasty and thugish style of Latin hip-hop.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yeap!! We do play live. We've played at concert halls doing opennings for other artists in Montreal. We've participated in local Quebec tours like the Molson hip-hop tour, the Quebec City performance was one of our best, we drove that crowd crazy, in St-Hyacinth we had people giving us the felling of being international stars. Giving authographs and even photographs. But the most hype event we've been in was at Millenium night club in Montreal, were even school buses came from the suburbs of the city only to see what we had prepared for them, that show was the s***.
Your musical influences
Influences and Inspirations,
Since the early years of hip-hop, artists like Big Daddy Kane, Kool Mo Dee, Slick-Rick even Fresh Prince we're inspiration for different aspects of the music. Then with Tony-dez who brought his west-coast flava into the crew artists like Ice-T, N.W.A. and Latin rappers like Cypress Hill, Frost and Mellow Man Ace, influenced us to rap in spanish. Then when the years past by alot of new artists only blasted with creative styles, making every little sound or beat be so new to us that we had to keep up with the culture to be as spontanius as we could. What equipment do you use?
We're Hip-Hop cats. We mostly play around with samples but we always find a way to play different stuff on top of it and tweek the sounds to get something new. Basicly we saple, but we also play some of our beats.MI GENTE DE SMOKED&BLESSED!!!
