SmackDown Band

First, we would like to thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about our band “SmackDown”. We’re a band that originated in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL and delivers all the sounds of which we like to call “new rock”. We structured as a band in December 2001 and have been strengthening ever since. We have a phenomenal lineup of musicians in which come from other highly recognized bands in the Chicagoland area such as Infinity, Hardline, and Sueño Latino. One of our goals is to deliver the highest quality of music and showmanship to our audience, as well as the highest level of professionalism to the establishments that hire us to entertain. So, a little more “in depth” info about exactly what it is that we play. Like mentioned above, we play what we like to call “new rock”. New rock fits into the alternative rock genre, but these days the term “alternative rock” is to open and expresses far too many different styles of rock music. To give a better idea, some of the bands we cover are Nickelback, Creed, and Default. As well as the newer rock, we even cover the more “college-poppy” sound by bands like Blink 182, Weezer, Lit, and the Goo Goo Dolls. Everything that we cover is popular music that gets lots of radio play so that very few are unfamiliar with the songs. Everything that we cover can be heard on such (Chicago) radio stations as Q101, the Zone 94.7, the Mix 101.9, and the Loop 97.9. We have a few originals that we perform as well, and they fall along the same lines as what we cover but with our own, original sound.
