Under the spiritual covering (leadership and guidance) of Pastor Marie Mosley of the Faith Center West Family Church, Youth Leaders Nate and T (SLS /SLEEPLESSOULJAZ ) was adopted by 2 U.S citizens from a Haitian Orphanage in 1989 at the ages of 7(Nate) and 4(T). They had to learn the English language with in 3 months so that they would not be too far behind others their own ages in school. Nate and T know, understand, and have experienced the less than poor side of life; where you either have a shirt or some used pants with holes in them to wear (no underwear or shoes) and if you got 1 meal a day, you were considered blessed. They have never from the birth canal to now have never had anything handed over to them on a silver platter. Their adoptive parents made sure of it. Unlike most children, Nate and T (SLS/SLEEPLESSOULJAZ) spent their childhood learning the business side of society through their family business. Learning that nothing is free in life but with hard work, dedication, commitment and consistency was no joke. Having only a couple hours a week (if that) of a free time made it hard and difficult to establish what youth would now call a “social life”. Nate and T (SLS/SLEEPLESSOULJAZ) were not allowed to listen to any loud or obnoxious music especially rap, whether it was positive Christian or not. Their music, which was a way out and escape to them was never understood by their parents and definitely not encouraged. Fast forward to 2003 when SLS accepted their calling as ministers and their confirmation of their foundation was established, Ephesians 6: 10-18. Their whole ministry is based on reaching that 1 everywhere they go because 1 person can change multitudes. They were tried and tested to be proven during the birthing (recording) of their 1st album, “Certified Fake Face”. “It took many years to birth (record) our 1st album, but its finally here and it was worth every dime, sweat and tears” they said. They went through a lot of spiritual warfare (challenges) and life crisis to complete this album. They give all the credit and thanks to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his hand that was on their life from the beginning. “ We know we are something special especially looking back knowing that other orphans could have taken our spot,” states Nate and T (SLS/SLEEPLESSOULJAZ). SLS wants people to know that "Just because we do not look like we don’t have challenges that we go through doesn’t mean that we don’t have challenges, the difference is where your focus is. Don’t focus on your challenge but on the end results. Don’t sweat the small stuff, cause it’s all small stuff ” ****SLS (SLEEPLESSOULJAZ) will be working on an ‘Tell All’ video bio of their life soon.****** For more about SLS go to WWW.SLSTV.tv Have a bless and prosperous day!
