Slick Ant
Welcome future. This is your loyal representative Slick Ant. Our pain, our joy, our bounce is well documented in the songs below.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Slick Ant started rapping in middle school. Learning and reciting "Slam" from Onyx and whatever. That just snowballed into writing and then joining the group "Kadariss" in 11th grade.
After many successful shows, and underground records, Slick struck out on his own late 1999 and joined the Air Force. Equipment was bought, soul searching and growing was done, and here he is today: an extremely mature songwriter, electrifying performer, innovative producer, and a well-rounded artist and entertainer.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play instruments live, but I do produce. I love performing live, I've opened for Mr. Cheeks in Ft. Walton Beach and done various shows in the south. Ultimately, I'd love to front a live hip-hop band.
Your musical influences
Wu-Tang Clan 1st and foremost, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Dr Dre, DJ Premier, NAS, Jay-Z, The Roots, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Radiohead, Nirvana, Soundgarden, D'Angelo, Madlib, and Jay-Dilla. All are GREAT artists.
What equipment do you use?
Korg Tri-ton :o) (for all those Little Brother fans :o) and a Korg D1600 track recorder.
Anything else?
Slick Ant is THE HOTTEST rapper you've never heard of. The wordplay is SICK, the vocals are smooth, unique, and VERY pleasing to the ear.
