Band/artist history
Freestyle Records follows up its highly acclaimed debut 12 from Icelandic Funk group Jaguar and critically acclaimed future disco classic from JTQ featuring Roy Ayers with a funky hip hop jam from UK producer Sleeve. The debut release from hot UK hip hop producer Sleeve was "Hipness" which came out in 1994 on his own label. Selling initially only through Soul Jazz Records it went onto sell 1,500 copies through that one shop alone before finally getting a distribution deal and selling in excess of 5,000 copies. Copies now sell on ebay for $150 each. The second releases "Spycatcher theme" came out in 1997 and sold it's 2,500 pressing within 2 weeks. The third release from this maverick genius was "Save the children" selling over 2,500 copies and in 2003 released the tune "Get it on", its the second best selling artist on freestyle records with 3000 copies to date. he has teamed up with London based DJ/Mixer "Lowman" (Elton Mcaleer)to bring you the second release on freestyle records "So fine" and "Kick it" which comes out mid April 2005 on Freestyle Records
