Slaughterhouse 6
Slaughterhouse 6 is a ska-rock band from Des Moines, Iowa. Over a year since there humble start, they have played countless shows with many famous bands such as Suburban Legends, Troubled Hubble, The Amazing Kilowatts, Stuck with Arthur, and many more.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band played its first show on May 10th, 2003. Slaughterhouse 6 had six members then. Today they have moved from countless others to the standard 9 they have right now. Dan with his guitar, Dustin and his bass, Kenny on drums, Chris... well he kinda wails in the background of the other instruments, Stubbs on his trombone, Derek on the ... other trombone, Mike with either an alto or a tenor sax depending on what song, Jeebus on duel trumpet, and AK, poor AK on single trumpet.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have played live at many venues around Des Moines such as The Vaudeville Mews, The House of Bricks, Dializa's, and The Botanical Center to name a few. It is honestly the best way for people to hear our music because they can tell us what they think right then and there. A special moment would have to have been the Jeebus show which was when we made one of our trumpet players, Jeebus, the star of the show.
