Creatures from the largest Grizzly bear to the tiniest bee tend to hibernate and sleep for extended periods during cycles of extreme cold. The name SLAUGHTER BEACH is chocked full of mystery, but now the group has awakened from an extended slumber as Hip-Hops ice age has begun to melt. The dynamic duo of Dynasty Williams and Dallas Winston compose SLAUGHTER BEACH and now the music industry will contend with a new immovable force within Hip-Hop.
Band/artist history
Reared in Delaware, the First State of the Union, Slaughter Beach managed to rock show after show attempting to establish a staple sound that represented the uncharted territory. We opened shows for cats like Method Man, KRS-One, Redman, Mobb Deep, the Roots and we were dope. The only problem occurred when the music started to change for the worse, says Dynasty. We werent feeling that we had a shot of really making a dent because things were so glamorous. We were dudes that were coming from the heart on some real music. allas and Dynasty, two blood-related brothers, always expressed themselves through their music. Growing up Hip-Hop was a perfect match as they initially rapped for the pure, fun of it. Money wasnt ever a factor that would compromise the art that they did. We did our basement demos. They were wack, but it was just about fun. But my pop had an old Ford Escort and a white lady hit it and put a dent in the side, recalls Dallas. Pop didnt even fix the car. He got the money and gave it to us, because he saw what we were doing and knew we wanted to do. The demo resulted in a pair of songs and before long, the duo had amassed hundreds of songs none that have seen the light of day. About 1997, things halted altogether. Dynasty says, Eventually, we shut down. We loved what we were doing, but definitely didnt see that there was a place for emcees that actually had skills, talked about relevant stuff to the community and refused to sell out. The Hibernation began. In 2004, Slaughter Beach woke up refreshed and refocused. Now we are here now and we arent leaving until we want, says Dynasty with confidence. Hip-hop is trash now. Were going to change it with some people that think like us. We have a new set of tools that werent there before. You cats have no idea. Slaughter Beach is here. Dont wonder why or how, just be ready to deal with it, Dallas concludes. Hip-Hopi s about to undergo a global warming that is certain to melt the icy polar caps. Slaughter Beach will release their still-untitled debut CD in the fall of 2004.
