Slap That Kid
We are a rock band that doesn't scream or yell or bitch about things. We like to rock. We play some funky rock and/or roll with some drums, some guitar, some bass and a guy who sings words and such.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
A melding of rock guitars, funky drum beats and an array of vocal stylings comprises Slap That Kid...an eclectic rock band out of Connecticut. Formed over 2 years ago, the band has made a name for themselves throughout the state, amassing a huge mailing list, and playing frequently at local bars and clubs.
The band placed third in the "best band" category in the Fairfield County Weekly Newspaper's "Best of " voting in 2002. They also earned a third place finish in the annual "Battle of the Bands" - a 12 band competition held every summer at "Skybox," a popular venue for live music. Recently, Slap That Kid performed at the first annual CT Rock Awards held at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT and was runner-up for the People's Choice Award. In addition, Slap That Kid performs regularly at a number of local hot spots like Toad's Place in New Haven, and the Playwright in both Stamford, CT and New Haven, CT.
