Those Clever Mannequins (Feat Glimply the Clown) Those Clever Mannequins (Feat Glimply the Clown)
This song was on a backburner for quite a few years. I literally could not see how to really go beyond an initial super-rough sketch. However recently (early 2023), I pressed forward and trusted that the journey would reveal where to go; it worked.

SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton.
Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel.
Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-)
His base of operations is in Torrance, California.
The official SKySWiM web page is .Band/artist history
Been a musical "group" of at least one since the first time I first poked at a piano keyboard, when I was about 3 years old:-)Have you performed in front of an audience?I do quite a lot of classical and some jazz performances. I have really only performed my own music once as a two-man band. I would LOVE to do something like that again.
Your musical influences
Classical music (Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, etc. especially Ravel and Mahler these days), ELP, Yes, Supertramp and Pink Floyd (to name a few) from the "older" days. Art of Noise, Yello, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, and Devo for the not so distant past. Much more currently, Uberzone, Crystal Method, NiN and a late blooming interest in David Bowie, plus a plethora of other influences, including Porcupine Tree, and Stew (solo) along with his group, TNP. I think the ultimate collab would be between Rammstein and Enya. What equipment do you use?
Sonar Producers Edition with numerous software plug-ins. Various hardware synths still standing by in case I go live again, unless I decide to go all soft synth live via laptop, which I just might do.Anything else?
Lots of new stuff on the way. Many have stated that much of my music would work well in TV/movie soundtracks. Please contact me if you are interested in licensing my music for a TV or movie project you are working on.Contact
