Our music is not only inspired by our influences but it is also inspired from the people around us. Self killing Discipline is about Filipino indie music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Self killing Discipline or known as SKD *indie* The band was formed way back September 27, 2005 by Jay and Loid, Sooner that week Danvic was invited to hook on the group as well as Kirby. Mainly the members are from different other bands before this band was formed. Jay came from a hardcore band and Lloyd came from a metal band in the states, Danvic came from a funk band and lastly Kirby came from a hard rock band. Fussing every juice of experience and influences the music of SKD was very wide and broad. From Jazz to Metal, Rock to Classical, the band is more into the form of expression and satisfaction for the music.
The bands aggressiveness took the chance of grabbing every opportunity traveling Angeles to Manila for the sake of playing their music and to be heard by other people and exposing them selves as the Self Killing Discipline. The SKDs first gig was held on Kolumn bar last December 1 2005 under First step production and sooner the band was affiliated with different productions. The bands attitude just made every member united and firm. The bands demo was recorded last March 31, 2006 at James DZONE recording studio at San Fernando Pampanga. By fussing different ideas, inspirations and influences SKD came out with different holistic style of music and freedom
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we play live.Usually in Bars in Manila ,Independent productions.Invitations. and front acts.
